SO, you've read the F.A.Q., the rules, checked that the character you're interested in is free and not reserved, and now you're ready to apply? Great! We're ready to accept you! The application description is below, and the form is ready for your copypasta convenience just underneath it! Please submit all applications in comments to this post with the subject "chara name | series". Have a seat, and drink some tea. We'll get right to you! At this time, we do NOT allow application challenges. Sorry about that! It's all first-come, first-serve. You can apply for TWO (2) characters per round, with a maximum of SIX (6) characters allowed altogether. RESERVES are not necessary. We run on a first-come, first-served system, but if you reserve your place is guaranteed for apps. REQUESTS will always be as clear as possible on what we believe was lacking and expect to see written into the application, but feel free to ask for clarification and we'll reply as soon as possible. You have seventy-two (72) hours to revise, or your application will be revoked. Although you're more than welcome to ask for an extension if for some reason you're unable to complete in time, within reason. REJECTIONS will also have clearly-stated reasons, and you'll be more than welcome to re-apply next month. However, we ask that if you're rejected three times in a row, you please try your hand at another character. WHEN ACCEPTED, please read and follow the directions in the welcome copypasta closely! We don't ask for a terrible amount, but we do note that some things are mandatory for the game and it helps greatly with organization! DID YOU PLAY IN HOLYRELIC BEFORE? We have a special rule for that! If you're repicking a character you had in HR before we closed previously, we're upholding our promise that your character can come back with their memories, THREE (3) event items of your choosing, and half of their levels. (I.E: Gauche was level 42 thereabouts, he'll be 21 to start.) Just comment to the apps with an updated player/character section to reclaim! No need for samples. :) Applications can be screened for privacy after they've been judged, so please add a note if you'd like it screened. player. NAME: Your name or handle. Please do keep in mind that while journal posts are more natural to write for samples, we have no network in The World-- everything is face to face. Setting doesn't matter! We just ask that you please not write a sample about your character first arriving, because it greatly limits their usual personality and reactions. DESIRED CLASS & REASONING: Edge Punisher. Her only sword in her game is a two-handed blade called Save The Queen, which has always been classed as a greatsword throughout the FF series. Whilst her canon class is 'paladin', she has only a limited pool of admittedly impressive holy powers, with her main strength being her implacable sword skills, so her canon skills and spells will be enough - as far as I can see. she doesn't need to multiclass into Harvest Cleric or anything like that. She's canonically 'the best swordsperson in the land' so. SWORDS SWORDS SWORDS. :|b
PERSONALITY: Beatrix is a woman who experiences the shattering and reshaping of her country, her loyalties and her love throughout the course of a single game. She can be viewed in several stages: we are first introduced to Beatrix the Arrogant, legendary warrior and General of the Alexandrian army so intent on wiping out the other populations on their Mist Continent. A name feared and respected in equal amounts by all who seek the warrior path, she is both physically and mentally strong, having achieved the highest military rank and a reputation across the land for her prowess. And boy does she know it. She is fully aware of her ability, her determination, and her drive to succeed, and she isn't afraid to say it. She comes off as conceited, though it's more a full understanding of her own power - not once does the main party come out of a battle against her victorious. This pride - this self-awareness - is one of Beatrix's key personality traits. She's good, and she knows it. She has trained for years, taken part in countless battles, and sworn total and unending loyalty to her country to get where she is. It's unsurprising that her reaction to a challenge by an ordinary thief is amusement followed by a mocking claim of humiliation. Her reputation is as much a weapon as her sword.
Loyalty is her second incarnation. Beatrix has sworn allegiance to Alexandria, and continues to serve despite the obvious misgivings she harbours about the methods her Queen demands. Only when she is faced with the order to kill her Princess does she rebel, swearing fealty to the daughter rather than the mother who has gone so astray. And when she changes sides, she does so without shame and without hesitation. She rejects her old oaths, even as she accepts that this makes her a traitor deserving of death. She cannot ask for forgiveness for the atrocities she committed in the name of the queen, but so long as she does what is right and just, she can atone even slightly by securing the future. That is her belief. As she would treat any other deserter, so she expects to be treated herself. In fact, her reinstation as General by the newly-crowned Queen Garnet is as surprising to her as anything, but who is she to question the decisions of royalty? Beatrix will obey any order without remorse or hesitation, to the best of her considerable ability, even if that order is to once again serve the country she betrayed.
All in all, Beatrix is a proud and noble woman who treats all with impeccable manners and unswerving dedication. She is a leader, and a damned good one at that, and her ability to inspire both fear in her enemies and respect and adoration from her people is a marker of such. Strong, implacable, and a role model for her forces, there is no greater ally.

WELCOME to Holy Relic! There are a few things we'd like to ask of you before jumping in, so please read below and head on over to our welcome post with some ideas for journal setup and a slightly more detailed rehash of the steps below.
(one.) Create your character journal if you haven't already done so, and join the following game communities:
(two.) Comment to our taken series list if your canon hasn't already been posted (or you're an original character, in which case they go in the 'original characters' series post!).
(three.) We have an AIM chat at holyrelic that everyone is more than welcome to join, but if you don't want invites, just let a mod know! There's also a mod plurk for events, app/reserve opening and closing, and asking for occasional quick opinions.
Lastly, we have a comprehensive permissions post with comments by anyone that needs replying to-- this would be for characters with abilities that affect others, such as ability-copying, cannibalism, random violence and so on. If your character has an ability where you'll need permission from others, please make a post in their journal and link to it on the comprehensive permissions post. Then please comment around to any listed posts and help your fellow players out!
