welcome.

SO THEN, you've been accepted! Welcome to Holy Relic; we're glad to have you. There may be a few things you'd like tips on to get started, or help in setting up your character journal. If so, you've stumbled on the right page!

Upon getting accepted, there is a short list of things to do; but we'll reiterate. You first join the three communities, [community profile] holyrelic (the main community for action posts), [community profile] algagrass (the logs community, for prose logs and event posts), and lastly [community profile] handsong (the out of character community, for introducing yourself, hiatus/drop notices, memes, and mod announcements).

We next ask that you reply to the taken characters list, find your series, and reply with the form given. If your series isn't listed after a few hours of being accepted, please reply to the taken series list itself with the series name and we'll reply as soon as possible with a link to the new section once we've added it.

Lastly, we have a comprehensive permissions post with comments by anyone that needs replying to-- this would be for characters with abilities that affect others, such as ability-copying, cannibalism, random violence and so on. If your character has an ability where you'll need permission from others, please make a post in their journal and link to it on the comprehensive permissions post. Then please comment around to any listed posts and help your fellow players out!

Follow the journal setup guide below to see what is game mandatory and what isn't, and that's all you need to do! Go right ahead and introduce yourself in the OOC community, and say hello to your fellow players!

journal setup.

As far as journal setup goes, a contact information post and permissions are required, while the rest is optional. Coding is provided, but it's not required to use if you prefer your own.

contact information.

A contact information post can have as much or as little actual means of contact as you'd like. However, we ask that you at least keep your character e-mail listed, and be sure that others can PM your account if you don't want your aim/plurk/e-mail listed. You're free to use the post itself as a means of communication, with replies screened or unscreened at your preference. You should set the date to a forward-dated year such as 2030 and check the date out of order option, so that the post is stickied at the top of your journal.

EXAMPLE

stats & permissions.

Stats can be filled out at your disposal if you'd like an easy way to keep track of your character's progress and status in the game, or you can simply remove the top of the code and leave the permissions. But permissions ARE mandatory, so that no one steps on anyone else's toes when it comes to fourth-walling, injuring, and such other things. You're more than welcome to specify that people contact you before such things happen, as well!

EXAMPLE

character relationship chart.

A character relationship chart is a good way to keep track of who your character's met, when, and their impressions! ...Unfortunately this has yet to be added!

EXAMPLE

activity tracking.

An activity tracking post can be super handy; and we've provided codes just in case you like to match. Alas, this isn't added yet either!
